On another walk through Raphael Park Romford, this time in the late afternoon, the weather was rainy and cold but the colours of the leaves and surroundings still gave great opportunities to make a painting of vivid colours. This is also a 30” x 40” canvas, I used acrylics and worked light to dark, using very bright yellows, purples and oranges for the under painting of trees, leaves and tree bark. When painting in distant figures, remember just a small brush stroke of red on any figure leads the eye right through to the back of a painting, a good painterly technique to employ. Working on large canvases is great fun, and a project I would advise any artist to undertake.
