Soluble pens are one of my favourite mediums, for many different reasons.
One of these is that you can create such interesting shapes and patterns when you add the water to the ink. Another reason is that you can use line.
I used watercolour paper for my drawing below, I wanted to use the texture of the cold press paper. In class on Friday we looked at three different exercises. Exercise one equated to the rose below without all the outside petals attached. If you took six layers of the petals off of the rose below you are back to our onion shape that forms the central shape of this rose.
This is the fourth exercise in that set, the exercises get bigger and bolder each time so you build on your first learning experience of the onion shape each time you complete a further exercise.
