It is not a usual perspective for a portrait to be looking up at a face from a worm’s eye view. Therefore, it is a Good Idea to complete a portrait from this perspective to see if it indeed works as a composition. I found a photo of Amelia Earhart on line, from a worm’s eye view perspective. My intention also for the learners was to paint a well known person who was wearing identifying clothing, especially headwear.

This was definitely a challenge, of which the mouth proved to be the biggest one, as if you put too much of the left hand view of the mouth in you completely change the perspective and lose any likeness you have achieved.

A Good Thing about clothing or uniform that identifies a subject, it can distract from any minor differences in likeness as anybody looking at it is distracted by the clothing, especially headwear.
